πŸŒ‡ Cork Sunset Today: 8:05pm
πŸŒ‡ Last Wednesday: 6:55pm

I was picturing writing this edition with Ireland in the World Cup… what was I thinking!Β

There’s a definite Easter slant to this week’s list, with a big jump in kids’ events across the city and county.

Dog Days Market also looks like one of the weekend highlights, with St Peter’s hosting local makers, coffee and a dog-friendly crowd on Saturday.

If you know someone in Cork who’d like this email each week, send it their way!

Building Tools For Cork

We’re still gathering feedback for the Cork gym comparison website, and some of the most useful details, like cleanliness and crowding, can only really come from people who’ve actually used the gyms.

So if you’ve been to a gym in Cork, the survey below will only take a few minutes, and your response will help make the website much more useful. Thanks!

For new joiners, here’s a thread explaining what we’re going to build.

Old Cork

This photo shows the ground-floor shopfronts of the newly opened Metropole Hotel on MacCurtain Street around 1900.

Rather than using the whole building as a hotel, the Musgrave family leased the street-level units to local retailers. You can see Correll on the left, Musgrave Brothers in the middle, and Lawson & Co. on the right. Lawson & Co. still appears on the façade in the modern photo below.
